It's been a while since anything has been posted so I thought I would just re-assure everyone that MIRA will be back! We are not sure how many tournaments we will put on this year but we will definitely be getting some Michigan teams together to play some racquetball.

If you are interested in getting involved please check back soon and we will get a contact form put on the website.

As always check out Racquetball Factory for all your Racquetball Equipment needs.

"Break from the Books" Results

MIRA's first tournament of the year was a huge success!

Students from Ferris State U, Grand Valley State U, and Central Michigan U all sacrificed watching the UM/MSU football game for the CMU-hosted event.

After 6 hours of intense racquetball action, Dusty Smith emerged as the event champion, beating Kiel Webber in a grueling hour-long Finals match.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made MIRA's first USRA-sanctioned event so great! Ross from RacquetballFactory.com also deserves a big thank you for sponsoring the event! Here's the final results and some pictures as well:

1st: Dusty Smith, CMU
2nd: Kiel Webber, CMU
3rd: Ross Hunter, GVSU
4th: Nick Topolinsky, CMU
5th: John Yonkers, FSU

News Break: MIRA Events to be USRA Sanctioned!

Submitted by Dusty Smith on Thu, 08/13/2009 - 21:25

All future events will now be sanctioned by the US Racquetball Association (www.USRA.org). What does this mean for MIRA participants?

* By professionally sanctioning its events, MIRA gets an immediate credibility boost. MIRA will be seen as a truly legit organization, which is going to open doors!

* MIRA will be able to work much more closely with the Racquetball Association of Michigan (RAM), whose help will be incredibly useful.

* All MIRA events will be integrated into the RAM event schedule, increasing our visibility

* Major manufacturers of racquetball gear will be able to partner with MIRA (this is already in the works!).

* All MIRA events will be insured.

* MIRA participants will be nationally ranked on the USRA website!

Look for MIRA's tentative schedule soon, as well as more information on the sanctioning!
